Tai-lok Lui

Professor Lui Tai-lok, JP: He was the Vice President (Research and Development) and Chair Professor of Hong Kong Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). Before joining EdUHK, he was Chair and Professor of Sociology and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. He co-authored City-States in the Global Economy, Hong Kong, China: Learning to Belong to a Nation and Hong Kong: Becoming a Chinese Global City. He also co-edited Routledge Handbook of Contemporary Hong Kong and Hong Kong as a Global Business and Financial Hub. For publications in Chinese, he is the author of the award-winning The Story of Hong Kong in the 1970s Re-told and The Hong Kong Model. His academic writings also appear in Environment and Planning A, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, The Sociological Review, Urban Studies, etc.
