Tina Villareal

Tina Villareal is an Assistant Lecturer at the School of Future Media, The University of Hong Kong. 

 

She is experienced in media consulting, digital and print media including editorial work, content creation and copyediting, as well as newspaper design and advertising. 

 

She currently teaches courses on fundamental journalistic skills and storytelling, and works as part of SFM’s admissions and outreach team. She is also Faculty advisor to undergraduate students, encouraging them to explore challenges with curiosity and resilience.

 

Beyond academia, Tina is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As a Filipino-Hongkonger, she is passionate about creating spaces that reflect and uplift Hong Kong’s diverse communities. 

 

She mentors young people from ethnic minority backgrounds, supporting them in building entrepreneurial, educational, and communication skills that help them thrive and lead with confidence.
