Melissa Gecolea is a broadcast journalist with over 30 years of experience covering politics, defense, technology, and business in the Philippines, London, and Hong Kong. She worked at TVB Pearl for a decade as the main anchor for TVB Pearl’s English evening news as well as host and senior supervising producer “Pearl Magazine” and “Money Matters.” She currently anchors RTHK’s newly launched evening newscast.

Melissa began her career as a TV presenter and defense reporter at GMA-7 in the Philippines, and later produced the award-winning investigative show “Assignment” for ABS-CBN Channel 2. In London, she hosted and produced telecom industry programs for TelecomTV, before returning to the Philippines to executive produce a number of shows including “Future Perfect” and co-host and producer the award-winning finance show “On the Money” on ANC(ABS-CBN News Channel).
