Clare Baldwin

Clare Baldwin joined the School of Future Media as an Honorary Lecturer in 2026.

Clare has won two Pulitzer Prizes for International Reporting with her colleagues, in 2018 for investigations into the brutal Philippine drug war, and in 2019 for exposing the Myanmar military's expulsion and killing of Rohingya Muslims. Clare began working as a journalist at age 16, and has 20 years of experience as a journalist in the United States and across Asia. She focuses on in-depth field, data and visual reporting projects with multilingual teams, and has significant speaking and mentoring experience. She has previously written for The Frontiersman, The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner and The Peninsula Clarion in Alaska, Wired magazine, The San Francisco Examiner and Reuters. Clare was born and raised in Alaska and studied poetry and human biology at Stanford University.
