Candy Wong

Candy Wong CFA is a sell-side equity sales specialist with over 25 years of experience in the Asia and Hong Kong China markets. Her career spans journalism, financial services, and education.
She started her career as a journalist based in Hong Kong, covering political and business news for Sing Tao Daily, South China Morning Post, and the Hong Kong Economic Journal. In 1997, she joined Morgan Stanley as an Asian equity sales in the Institutional Equity Division. During her 25-year career at Morgan Stanley, she held various senior positions including Head of HK China Equity Sales, Co-Head of HK Cash Sales, and Head of China Client Coverage. She also served as a member of the China Management Committee and the China Risk Management Committee. She was the first woman promoted to Managing Director in the Institutional Equity Division in Hong Kong in 2008.
After retiring from Morgan Stanley in 2023, she joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a part-time lecturer in the School of Journalism and Communication. She is also a guest lecturer on financial communication at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and University of Hong Kong.
Candy majored in journalism at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. She is a holder of Master of Science in Finance from London Business School. She has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2001 and currently she is Vice-Chair of the University Outreach Committee at the CFA Society Hong Kong.
