Benedikt Fohr

Benedikt Fohr is the founder and director of Fohr Consulting Ltd., a music consultancy based in Hong Kong and Germany. The firm specializes in organizational support for orchestras and interim management.
Over the past 30 years, Benedikt Fohr has held several senior leadership positions with orchestras. He served as Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) from April 2019 to August 2025.
Before joining the HK Phil, Benedikt was CEO of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern (DRP) from 2006 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he served as General Director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (Orchestra of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) from 2001 to 2006, Secretary General of Camerata Salzburg from 1996 to 2001, and Managing Director of Ensemble Recherche Freiburg from 1989 to 1996.
Educated in Germany, Benedikt holds a degree in business from the University of Mannheim. He has served on the boards of various arts organizations and foundations and was Artistic Director of the Echternach Music Festival in Luxembourg from 2015 to 2019.
Since his youth, he has played the violin and later the viola in various chamber ensembles and amateur orchestras. His work as a music manager brings together his passion for music and his background in business and management.
