International Student Exchanges
The School of Future Media provides opportunities to learn beyond the classroom by emphasizing social and intellectual interactions and encouraging a “think global” mindset. The exchange programme permits students to apply for semester- or year-long study at top-tier international Institutions.
Whether through the School's exclusive partnerships of the broader HKU Worldwide network, participants may apply to study at more than 100 prestigious universities globally.
Regularly selected destinations include:
- The Amercias: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA; UC Berkeley, USA; McGill University, Canada
- Europe: Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), France; Danish School of Media and Journalism, Denmark; University of Navarra, Spain; Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany
- Asia: Yonsei University, South Korea: Chulalongkorn University, Thailand
- Oceania: University of Melbourne, Australia

Eligibility
All non-final year BJ students are eligible to apply, with the exception of students who have previously been or are already accepted for an exchange under the HKU Worldwide Undergraduate Student Exchange Programme, or any other student exchange programme organized by other faculties or departments of the university.
While applicants may apply for both the School of Future Media Exchange Programme and the HKU Worldwide Exchange Programme, only one offer may be accepted.
Applications
- Applications will be accepted at around November to December every year.
- Interested parties should submit the application form (available below) for the School of Future Media Exchange Programme directly to the School of Future Media. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Please view the School of Future Media Exchange Programme Guide and School of Future Media Exchange Programme Checklist (available below) before completing the application form.
- Appropriate candidates will be invited to attend an interview in January.
Financial Support
There are a limited number of scholarships and sponsorship opportunities to provide financial assistance to students. The International Affairs Office (IAO) will assign an appropriate scholarship to students according to your financial needs and academic standing once the application to the host institution becomes successful.
